Just installed Thunderbird. Little Snitch (on Mac) alerted me to allow/deny a connection to location.services.mozilla.com

Why is it doing so?

Chosen solution

I believe it is used to determine in which country you are located, not to transmit back your exact location. https://location.services.mozilla.com/ itself does have some description.

Thanks. Why would it need to know my location, whether exact or not?
