i am trying to access my gmail mail but cannot put my password in. went to your help but in -- account settings -- SMTP server -- authentication method -- it will not show OAth option. have checked cookies settings etc but nothing ????

No idea what that means. Thunderbird will prompt you for the password when it's needed. Please explain in more detail
