When creating a new bookmark, there is an arrow button named "Show all the bookmarks folders" that lets you choose the destination. I have managed to make the tree bigger and remove the huge thumbnail by modifying userChrome.css, but having the destination tree expanded by default would be so much more usable. The addon [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/default-bookmark-folder/ Default Bookmark Folder ] Default Bookmark Folder has a search feature but it's slower than just having the full tree from the beginning.
