When shutting down Thunderbird, is there a way to configure it so that it automatically saves all open windows instead of explicitly asking to save each one?

Hello,

I have been using Mozilla Thunderbird on MacOSX for about ten years, (currently Catalina 10.15.6) and have finally been frustrated enough with Thunderbird shutdown issues to post this question. When I shutdown, the only app that holds up shutdown is Thunderbird, which asks for each open window where I have a draft of some email whether to save that window or not. Is there a way to configure Thunderbird so by default it just saves all open windows and automatically shuts down instead of requiring to explicitly click Save for every open email draft? Or could the designers add a button that says "Save All"?

Thanks, Rick

It annoys me as well, but I do not think there is a way. You could file a bug report asking for change. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/

I'm fairly certainly a bug report already exists.

There are quite a few 'session restore' reports:
