Deleting a folder in history removes every history of the website

Why does this remove the entire history of a website? It doesn't make sense. I just want to remove what history it has made today. This doesn't make any sense... Not at all and the more I explore Mozilla, the more confusing it is despite I have used the browser for more than 5 years.

To be clear, I meant this. Like what's under "Today". Now, deleting it really deletes everything from the past too. Doesn't make sense.  :/ ...
