I can't access either the 'about Firefox' or the 'preferences' pages from the menu bar. Someone helped me get into my passwords yesterday evening but the point is that FF isn't functioning, and I can't update to see if that fixes it.l

Start Firefox using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
