I have about 35,000 emails sorted into about 100 folders and sub-folders in my local inbox, total size about 10GB. How can I search all folders and sub-folders simultaneously to find all emails sent and received on a particular date?

All emails are stored in a single folder on the E drive, using the "File per folder (mbox)" option in Thunderbird.

Thanks in anticipation!

Chosen solution

Menu app icon > Find > Search Messages Search for messages in: select the name of the account Select checkbox to 'search all subfolders' select : Match all of following 'Date' 'is' specify date eg: 19/08/2020 click on 'Search'

If desired you can save this as a special search folder - 'Save as search folder' You can then view the results via that folder in the Folder Pane. You can also easily edit the search parameters eg: all additional accounts/ folders etc or change date. Right click on search folder name in Folder Pane and select 'Properties' Very handy.
