I keep getting, "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible."

I have tried some of the instructions in the articles and not getting anywhere. I did save a copy of my profile on a USB. I had moved files from my iCloud to my hard drive and when I tried to use Firefox, I got this error message. I moved the files back to the iCloud and still no difference. Please help.

The best option for you is probably to create a new profile so that the folder with the correct name is created and so that the profile is added to Firefox's profile list.

Then you can close Firefox and copy the contents of your old profile (the one from iCloud) into newly created profile folder (overwriting files where necessary).

Note that this is a problem with the profiles.ini file that points to a profile folder that no longer exists.

You can find the profiles.ini file in a hidden location:

  • Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/
