Current Firefox releases still support OS X 10.9 and later, so nothing to worry.

thanks!!

the fact that el capitan is no longer supported by apple, and does not get any new security update by apple, does not affect firefox at all?

It doesn't affect Firefox as such and Firefox will keep working as long as Mozilla supports your OS, but of course your OS gets no longer security updates/patches and you get more vulnerable with every disclosed security issue in the OS.
