With Thunderbird my old Email settings have an option to not have messages automatically downloaded. I have established a new Email address which does not have a automatic download box as an option to not check. How can I avoid an automatic download with my new address ???

Yes. My old address is POP and my new address is IMAP.

Imap is pushed from the server when they arrive.
