"Updates ready to install" notice from Microsoft; something blocking them when I accept -- what "firefox" setting would prevent download?

At least 3 times/day I get: "UPDATES AVAILABLE Updates for Office are ready to be installed, but first we need to close some apps." I shut down all apps myself - or - allow Microsoft t do it. Regardless, nothing is downloaded. I check my download file and others and nothing "sticks".

I've even tried going to the Microsoft web-site and selected available downloads; nothing.

Malware/virus checks come up with nothing.

Any recommended solutions?

Hi rlt616, if you mean updates for Microsoft Office, Windows should retrieve them directly from Microsoft. (If you prefer to use a browser to download updates, try Internet Explorer or Edge to work with the updaters on Microsoft's site.)

Regarding installing them, Windows should schedule them for installation either at shutdown or startup. I don't see how Firefox would affect that.
