If I download the updated version of firefox,will the old version which might contain maleware be uninstalled
I currently have an old version of foxfire, which might contain malware. If the updated version is downloaded, will old version uninstall . I don't want the new version to get this problem

Hello wizmcgraw, probably you are talking for a different pc from the one who ask your question, because you have the latest firefox version 49.0.1.
it is better to fix your malware issue and then update firefox to latest, please try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- Anti-Rootkit Utility - TDSSKiller
- AdwCleaner (for more info, see this alternate AdwCleaner download page)
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista if you don't already have one. Windows 8/10 have antivirus protection built-in.
