I cannot add more than 14 addresses to a new mail list.
I have created a new list under Personal addresses to use to advise of a change of email address. I have used the approved methods of adding addresses from the personal addresses to the new list eg by highlighting and dragging individual addresses and by highlighting a group and dragging. I each case the list name lights up but when I check ti will not accept more than 14 addresses. As you can imagine this is most frustrating. I will have to set up a series of 14 name lists. Any help will be appreciated. Tbird is fully updated by the regular updates and functions well in all other regards. Regards James Reid

I have found that sometimes the added names don't appear until Thunderbird is closed and restarted. Might this apply to you?
Why use Mailing Lists? I see them as appropriate for situations where you're going to use the same set over and over again, such as newsletters to club members. I wouldn't see one as an obvious solution for what sounds like a one-off operation.
But it occurs to me that you might use a Mailing List to overcome the limit on the number of discrete addresses that Thunderbird permits? Ironic, in this case as Thunderbird allows more than the 14 you currently have.
I don't know what's wrong and causing your trouble with Mailing Lists. We have heard of users with hundreds of names in their Lists.
Another approach would be a Mail Merge, but that is not without its issues either. The Add-on for Thunderbird is a bit flaky if an address fails but it doesn't tell you which one, so you risk sending multiples to the alresdy posted addresses when you re-start. The mail merge in Libre Office/Open Office might be more successful.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Tbird and all functions well now. I now have satisfactory mail lists. Thanks for your response
