When I upgraded to 4.0, I ;ost the "HOME" icoon on my toolbar and the ability to navigate back from any screen.

Did you see the Home button at the far right end of the Navigation (Address) bar?

If you want to move it to another place, you can do this: View > Toolbar > Custom

and drag the Home button into the window, then drag it back out wherever you prefer.

Try this:

View > Toolbars > Custom

and look for the Home button. Then drag it to wherever you want in the Toolbar.
