Hello,

First, it could be that Firefox lacks the permissions to update Firefox. To fix this, just run Firefox as admin and update.

Next, if that doesn't work, go to services.msc (win + R, then type services.msc), then find Mozilla Maintenance Service, and set startup type to automatic. (right click>properties, start options)
