vpn error message
My thunderbird account quit sending and receiving e-mails today. I called tech support for my e-mail account and spent 1 1/2 hours going through setting. On there end its showing an VPN error message, all VPN's are shut off. I can send and receive on this e-mail account on my iphone and my e-mail account web site just not through thunderbird on my desk top. My accounting program uses thunderbird to send invoice to customers.

Maybe proxy? Go to TB menu > Settings and search for proxy. Click the 'Settings' button under 'Connection'. Try switching to System or No. If it still doesn't work, ssee if anything relevant shows up in the Error Console:
- press Ctrl-Shift-J
- click the Trash can on the upper left to clear the console
- make sure 'Errors' is the only category selected
- click the 'Get Messages' (cloud) icon at the top of the Folder column
- if there are errors, R. click > Copy Message or Copy all Messages > paste here
