i followed you instructions to generate a new recovery before changing my password...so as not to lose my data....so now i dont have a recovery key and i cant create one because its asking me for my password???

I need to create a new recovery key and i should be able to but even though i am sighed in its asking me for my password which i have forgotten....wow nice instructions....i did exactly what I was instructed to...... to create a new recovery key.....but apparently even though i am sighed in i need to have my password to generate a new recovery key....would have been nice to know that first.....now i cant generate a new password without losing my data because i dont have a recovery key???? can anybody help me

You need to enter the password for security reasons as anyone could open that page and generate the recovery key. If you do not remember the password then you are out of luck and you should have generated the recovery key when you still remembered the password as now you are too late.
