I noticed that some of the answers which solved this issue for others were describing sections of Yahoo mail which no longer exist, so I either get the can't find settings for email or the unable to login to server messages when trying to set this up now, please provide an updated answer to both IMAP and POP3, thanks.

Chosen solution

The 6/14/22 current Thunderbird 91 did not function with the manual configuration settings which Yahoo has proferred elsewhere, I did what I needed with Protonmail Export/Import program it has for it's paid users, I could have paid crappy Yahoo but why would I do that, that is their sole reason for not making it convenient themselves, another program for Yahoo Mail fetching failed, though yet another program called Mailbird is probably best supported of all and it did function properly, yet it does not do the simplest downloading and exporting that common sense would have it doing, so the appropriate course is to use a competing product from the one that leaves you in this mess, and that as they say, dear friends, is that.
