Whenever I type something into the search bar on fire fox it takes me to a blank google search bar, when I type my search into the blank search bar and hit enter, it goes back to a blank search bar instead of giving me results to my search.

What search engine are you using? Have you tried a different engine?

Type about:preferences#search<enter> in the address bar. You can select any search engine to be your default from here.

You can also remove any engine from here.
