Tell me how to reduce the use of RAM by this browser. I'm already tired of closing and opening it a hundred times to free up RAM. If you don't tell me anything, you'll have to delete it ... Other browsers use ten times less RAM than Mozilla

MemTest LAST UPDATED : 27/09/2013 Could you please run a tool from http://memtest.org/ in order to check the integrity of your RAM?

You will need a thumb or disk drive to install it on.

Do you let Windows handle the page file or did you set a fixed size ? If you use a fixed size for the page file then try the former and let Windows handle the page file.

You can check the Firefox Task Manager (about:performance) and about:memory pages.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

If you use Adblock Plus then you can consider uBlock Origin as a replacement to see if that works better (lower memory footprint).
