Hi there

I have mail servers from a domain xxxxx.is (Iceland) mail servers are of the form mail.xxxx.is

Cannot create email address manually (IMAP) -- even when off line (Windows outlook works !!) as after the email entered it shows looking up configuration provider and endlessly goes on and on (V60 of Thunderbird)

none of the other options work -- advanced config does nothing etc etc.

Surely the whole point of MANUAL config is that is DOESN'T try and find ISP config from a database.

you do not get to manual until after you get to the lookup. Endless looking up is usually caused by security software. Firewalls blocking the new software. So really what happens in Thunderbird is pointless as it will not work until the firewall is fixed so the internet can be accessed. Be it the ISPdb or the manual configuration.

Just to be clear. We do not want people using manual configuration if there are registered settings for the server. It significantly reduces the support load if we find working setting for them.

If there is nothing it takes all of a second or two to poll the mail server, and even less it the server administrator has placed the settings in a XML file in the appropriate sub domain. No manual settings needed if the server is configured correctly.
