Hi! I see 60.2.1 has been released three days ago. My TB 52.9.1 (64-bit) still shows no update available. I'm on the release channel with automatic update enabled. I also have restarted TB several times with no change. I haven't changed any update related settings. I have Lightning but I don't use it. I'm running TB on CentOS 7 64bit with all latest patches.

What could be the reason? Thanks! I know I could just download 60.2.1 and manually update. But I want to understand what prevents my 52.9.1 from updating and whether this will affect my future auto updates.

While I appreciate all the work and precautions, if auto update is not being offered, the following sentence "Thunderbird version 60.2.1 provides an automatic update from Thunderbird version 52. " should be removed from https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/60.2.1/releasenotes/

Version 60 will offer an automatic updates based on the decisions of the Thunderbird drivers. You and I are not drivers, so we do not get a vote. But the statement is not incorrect, an automatic update will be offered, just not at a time that you think you should get it.

However we would love help with online documentation. So if you have time to contribute there is lots to be done in updating articles for releases and writing new ones.

@user4 If the above information does not resolve your issue, please consider creating a new thread containing the specific details of your issue.

Doing so will allow the Mozilla volunteers to give you solutions that are more specific to you and you will not hijack the support being offered to someone else with your issue. However I will try and address your specific and totally unrelated to this thread questions.

I am still not on the 60+ version too. Confusing to have 2 versions reported as the latest versions.

There are always two versions supported for about 6 weeks after a new release. Just because you are not aware of it does not make it so. That the time frames involved in the 60 release are longer than normal only reflects the caution of those doing the release and pausing the release in response to some issues that arose. If you are in a hurry go to getthunderbird.com and download the version 60 product and install it. I certainly have no intention of spending further time discussing the release schedule and why individuals have or have not received the updated release yet.

I checked out someone with version 60+ though. Many problems of the lower version are not solved in the 60+ version though. Will these be addressed in the lower version or in the 60+ version?: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1237155

I have no idea why you are linking to that support topic. Is there even a bug? That bug 1114475 was closed wontfix after much discussion would indicate it is not a bug, nor an enhancement request that the module owner would accept.

How do you file a bug report?

You have a link to bug 1114475 and filing a bug requires you to create an account in Bugzilla.

My feeling is filing a bug about that topic in particular will see it dupped to the oringinal and closed summarily. As occurred with Bug 1160274 It is not a topic that is open for discussion.
