I originally started using Mozilla twenty some years ago because I was able to choose the tools that I wanted and could avoid having to use Google. And now Yahoo is a part of Google, so I changed to a different service provider. And now with this latest Mozilla version, it does not allow me to install the service provider that I want. I'm stuck with Yahoo no matter what I do. So now I would like to go back to a previous version of Mozilla so I can get rid of this annoying Yahoo BS that keeps coming up on my PC. Would you please tell me how to go about reinstalling Firefox version 58.0!

You can use any search engine you want. But if this is locked;

Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; (<Control> [Mac=<Command>] <Shift> A)

Also remove SafeSearch, SearchAssist Incognito, FileConverter Addon, SearchLock, DiscreteSearch, WebSearch, Findwide Search Engine

Now do the same in the computer’s Programs Folder.

Hi warp4dennis, Mozilla currently has Google as the default search engine. Yahoo is not a part of Google, Yahoo joined forces with Verizon.

If you see Yahoo results on a Google page or instead of Google, that's unfortunately an indication that a bad Firefox add-on or malware has crept into your system. Unfortunately, rolling Firefox 60 back to Firefox 58 is unlikely to change that.

Hopefully you will be able to track down the source of the problem and return to your preferred search service without disruptive changes. If you need additional step-by-step instructions, please let us know.

The problem is with Mozilla Thunderbird 52.8.0. When I go to Thunderbird, a message comes up on a wide blue band with the name Yahoo on it. Then there is this message that begins in German: Bevor Sie fortfahren . . . .

How do I get rid of this unwelcomed message that is in German?
