Hotmail - inability to use in Firefox.

Last week, when I tried to sign out of Hotmail I got a message that sign out would not complete. Since then I have been unable to sign in to Hotmail in Firefox. This happens only in Firefox. I can sign in and out of Hotmail in Safari.

My computer is an iMac, i3.
