Which operating system are you using? I think Firefox comes along as a standard application for you system.
You can still install another Firefox in parallel. For example, Firefox Beta or Nightly. https://www.firefox.com/en-US/channel/desktop/?redirect_source=mozilla-org

Firefox 116.0 and later including the current Firefox 152.0.1 release and 140.0 ESR requires macOS 10.15 (ten.fifteen) or later to run as you appear to have the old EOL macOS 10.12.

Look at the right sidebar for the Question Details and the Tags. The OP is using macOS 10.12
Firefox may come as standard on some Linux distro installs.
You would not be able to install anything newer than 115.0 on macOS 1012, 10.13, 10.14.
Going beyond the 115.x you currently have would involve upgrading your macOS version, see similar support.mozilla.org/questions/1582867 for some tips how to attempt "masking" your system details to try to fool some of those sites…
