I have followed instructions to install a new language but it does not appear as installed and I can't use it.
I have had several attempts at installing a new language having followed your instructions to the letter but I am left with English USA. No matter how many times I try I get NOTHING and when I right click I am taken back to the dictionary installation page. I want English British and French France. There seems to have been a solution but it's not available to read. Please help as I have wasted so much time on this problem. Also I cannot find a menu item "Help" there does seem to be one on my version of Thunderbird. Thank you in advance.

Help is always on the Menu Bar. The Menu Bar is hidden in most applications including Thunderbird. The alt key reveals hidden Menu Bars.
What have wasted so much time doing?

Your reply got me thinking in the right direction especially the suggestion to drag the green button across which is not mentioned anywhere in the install instructions within the program. Over the last twenty-five or so years I have used numerous programs for photo editing, graphics and publishing and well as text and never has there been a suggestion of having to use the Alt key to bring up the Help menu. However I must say that i am very grateful for the help and the prompting which has made Thunderbird and thoroughly effective mailing program; as good as MS Outlook if I dare say so. Thank you again.
The alt key is a Windows shortcut to reveal a hidden menu bar. It has worked since the beginning of Windows. Now that the trend is to hide menu bars it is a good shortcut to remember.
