Been using Avast for the past year but, I have seen some ads for American as opposed to other anti virus software. I have some information I want to keep as secure as possible (not a fanatic).. Just looking for something good.

This is the support forum for Firefox, so may not be the best place to ask about the best anti malware solution for your computer.

I would recommend reading a number of recent comparisons and consider detection rates, price, and whether you require any of the "extras" that tend to get included (often people do not).

I quit using Avast a few years ago. I am very happy with Comodo Antivirus Free - (for personal use).
