How do I unlock email when password is not recognized?

I cannot access my email in box...when I use the password I've always had, it gives me the following: (I've tried as many as 8 times today)

Sending of password for user katbeau50@gmail.com did not succeed. Mail server pop.googlemail.com responded: Username and password not accepted.

You need to 'allow less secure apps'. https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6010255?hl=en
