Firefox crashes, message appears saying it cannot start

Because of another problem I used system restore, if that pre-dated a firefox update would that be a problem?

Upgrading to Firefox 8 worked immeadiately - no lost bookmarks or passwords, so pleased to be back with Firefox - IE is awful!!
