Firefox hangs on the opening window with 3.6.10 when it never did before. I have tried all help suggestions to no avail. Help!
I upgraded to version 3.6.10 and this started happening. It takes 5 - 10 minutes to load my homepage. After that it functions normally. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times and tried switching to 3.6.9 but it continues to hang. When I changed setting in the compatibility section of the properties menu, I received an error message.

To solve the problem close the program by using file exit instead of the red X. I also had the Firefox 3.6.2 running in the background and could not shut it down as well so I could not open a 2nd copy. Exit closes all the firefox programs. I have enclosed a link with some great tips from PC Magazine.
