Why does a second tab open that is not requested when I open a boomarked tab?
I open firefox then select a bookmarked location. The tab opens with my bookmark and within seconds a second tab will open with another site, be it google or news or whatever may pop up. This has only started in the past 3 or 4 days and I have been using firefox on this computer for a couple of years.

Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs.
You need to use all programs because each detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.
