
Can't seem to get any of my emails set up in Thunderbird
I'm trying Thunderbird for the first time and trying to set up my existing email accounts. I have tried both my protonmail account and my att account. Both keep coming back saying I have the wrong email, password or format (or something like that).
I have even gone in and reset my email password. I've also tried disconnecting VPN. And I've gone and logged out of all other places I have the accounts accessed. I'm about ready to give up on Thunderbird.

You need to get a security key from AT&T. You can probably find more details by searching this forum.
Maybe something similar with Proton?
Where are you getting the IMAP and SMTP settings for each account?

IMAP and SMTP settings were automatically populated by the Thunderbird program. Said they were in database.

Thanks for reporting. I am glad that something worked. Are both accounts working now or do you at least know what you must do for each?
