When using Firefox for Android, I can open links from another app (e.g. Feedly, Proton Mail) and only a small notification box says they are opened in Firefox, without leaving the app I'm in. Once I open Firefox a list of tabs will open for all those links I clicked externally.

Firefox Preview instead opens every time I click a link from an external app. This means I need to keep switching back and forth between the two apps if I'm trying to bulk open many links, such as from a reading list.

Can this functionality, to open external links in the background, be added into Firefox Preview?

Hi Brian

This is something that we have been looking to include in Firefox Preview, but looking at our work in this area documented at https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/fenix/issues/470, it appears that a feature that is required is not enabled in more recent versions of Android.
