I am new to Thunderbird. I was using Help to make it my default e-mail program. So, when I selected Tools, Options was there. Then the screen flashed and Options went away.

How can I get it back? I'm not sure what I did to make it go away.

Please help.

Are you using he AppMenu button? The square with 3 horizontal lines. If so Options is a choice by itself and not under Tools. Options is under Tools only if you are using the Menu Bar.

I don't see any change in the menu bar. Sorry.

Thank you. I was trying to follow directions in Thunderbird's help which said to choose Tools/Options, ... I found it. Thanks.

Many instructions refer to using the Menu Bar and that is hidden in the new versions. That is why christ1 suggested you press the alt key or F10. Both those keys reveal hidden menu bars. They have no effect on the AppMenu button. I suggest you turn the menu bar on so it is visible all the time and the normal menus are available to you. Go to the View menu. Select Toolbars and check Menu Bar.

It also helps to know the Menu Bar is at the top a window and has File-Edit-View etc on it. It is not a general term for any other menu you may be using.

Thank you again Airmail. I've done that.

I'm still trying to find my way around Thunderbird.
