Two live emails accounts on Thunderbird - Only able to send from one

I have two live emails on Thunderbird. When I send an email from the 2nd email, it does not get sent, but ends up in the outbox of the 1st email account. The first live email account works fine. I have checked and re-checked setting eg. defaults. And have looked in help/support but cannot find a solution. Receiving emails for both accounts works fine. Please help.

  1. Right click your account in the folder pane and select settings.
  1. Right at the bottom of the account settings you will see (outgoing server (SMTP) select it..
  2. Check that you have two entries for Live, each using different sign on credentials. It they have the same name change one to make it obvious to you which is which.
  3. Select your incoming account in the list above the outgoing server (SMTP) and check the SMTP selected for use is the correct one.

If you use a single SMTP server on live for multiple sending addresses, live changes the sender information to the primary for those sing on credentials. In should none of the live identities stuff works, except for when you send directly from the live web site.

Thank you Matt for your help. Greatly appreciated.
