copy selected text AND images with ctrl+c OR cmd+c

It's 2015 and it seems like I should be able to select a part of a page, press cmd+C, and have all of what I have selected, both text and images, be copied to the clipboard. Don't care about layout, CSS, or anything fancy. Want the text and images with one command from the keyboard. I can't have it. Text goes but every image must be individually copied and then only using the shortcut menu. I'm relatively new to this but what am I not getting about this? Why is this so hard that there are no extensions or anything that do this? This slows down my reading and research process substantially.

Where are you trying to paste what you copied?

Text can be put almost anywhere. Pictures can only go to those fields that allow them.

Try to paste to a word document.

Apple Pages. I can paste the images individually but not with text as a single copy/paste.

If it's one or the other, do one, then the other.
