I keep getting a message that says "Firfox is out of date. Please update". What is Firfox? Is it trying to tell me Firefox is out of date? Because I think it is up to date. (35.0.1). If this were Mozilla sending the message, I would think you would know how to spell "Firefox", so I assume this is some type of virus trying to get into my computer. What do you know about this? I keep clearing out the message. Do you know how to get rid of it? I have a screen capture of the message if you want to see it.

Hi, you are right to be suspicious - Mozilla does know how to spell Firefox! Don't click on it!

It sounds as if malware has got in, possibly bundled with something you downloaded. Please read, then run the malware removal programs near the bottom of this article, and hopefully one or all of them will clear it.

To check for official updates open the 3-bar menu > Help (question mark at bottom) > About Firefox.

Hope that will help.
