Firefox 57.0, Windows 8.1, video playback is green & purple and out of sync
Clean install of 57.0 (Quantum). Windows 8.1. Firefox has never been installed on this PC before. Video replay is awful (see attached image) on YouTube and Vimeo.
Interestingly, "Restart with Add-ons Disabled..." fixes the problem, but there are no user-installed Add-ons installed.
Chosen solution
You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
- Options/Preferences -> General: Performance
remove checkmark: [ ] "Use recommended performance settings"
remove checkmark: [ ] "Use hardware acceleration when available" - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/performance-settings
You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.
You can check if there is an update for your graphics display driver and check for hardware acceleration related issues.

Thank you. Disabling "Use hardware acceleration when available" fixed the problem. Now to see if there is such a thing as a graphics driver that will allow the re-enabling of that option without the problem reappearing. It's an AMD Radeon R2 Graphics display adapter.
