script error keeps popping up making me shut down my computer. A fix for firefox said I should go to tools and turn off script debug or something like that. I can't find where to access the tools button on my firefox page. where is it? going to your help sites and troubleshooting information offer no help just long confusing stuff. how can I get rid of this script error. I have windows 10 and this is a new computer. very very annoying.

Does this alert show what script this is about?

Can you attach a screenshot?

  • use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
  • make sure you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • Do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

There is no such setting for debugging script in the Firefox Tools menu (Options/Preferences).
