How do I set up Thunderbird so that no incoming email is automatically diverted to my spam folder?

I like TB flagging incoming emails that it thinks is spam, but I don't want TB to automatically divert any emails into the Spam folder. Is this possible?

I use four email accounts on TB. I'd like to set this up for all four accounts.

I've received the following message the last few days when I send an email with Thunderbird:

Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent) due to network or file access errors. (I am sure neither of those errors apply.)

It then gave me the option to "save" (I didn't get the exact wording before I clicked on "save") and I don't see it anywhere. This was a very important email and I need to find it.

Have got a replacement computer, and downloaded the latest TBird (having used it with AOL) for years). Following initial set up procedure, TB detects correct settings for AOL and the "enter password" page opens from AOL succcessfully for authorisation. AOL requires 2 factor authorisation, and I use a phone code for this.

However the speed at which the code arrives from AOL has always varied quite a bit, and today it is taking almost a minute so the TB set up screen is timing out long before the code arrives. Cant go on retrying as I will get locked out of the account. No point in going for manual set up as the auto settings are correct, so the same problem is going to occur. I have three AOL e-mail addresses to set up! Is there a workaround of some sort for this - its terribly frustrating and the set up screen "connect your e-mail settings" timeout period does seem quite short if you have to wait for a 2FA phone code or e-mail code - any delay in the arrival of which is completely ouside your control . I have tried everything I have found to "move or copy contacts from one address book to another". I can't believe this functionality is NOT present. Really Clunky. Copy & paste functions would be fine. But, does not work. The other methods discussed are very clunky and I could not make them work.

I'm using TB 157.0.1 on a Mac.

When I want to attach a file to an email, I click on Shift+Cmd+A.

I want to be able to navigate to a folder where the file is, then search for the file by name within the folder I navigated to. But it doesn't quite work that way.

I navigate to the folder, enter the file name in the search field, hit Return, and TB searches my entire hard drive. How can I force TB to limit the search to the folder I navigated to?

When I hit Return (or Enter) and TB searches the entire hard drive, the window that displays search results has a field I can click on that will limit the search to the folder I navigated to, but I'd like to eliminate that extra step. I'd like to set a default when searching for a file to attach so that search is limited to the folder I navigated to.

Is that possible?

I am installing Thunderbird for the first time on a new win 11 box. During the install, a "special" email account was created (not by me). I would rather not have the account, but when I right click on the account, the "delete" option is not there, and the account description (immediately below Account Settings) is "The following is a special account. There are no identities associated with it.". Is it possible to delete this account or at least hide it on the accounts list?

I did an uninstall/reinstall hoping to start over, but that did not do a complete reset, and the new install came up with the same accounts (including the "special") as I had set up before.

So, can I remove the account from the existing install, or can you tell me how to do a "clean" reinstall that forgets all previous account information?

In Thunderbird I configure my account, in yahoo.com I give my id and password, and I get an error : "Aucune application disponible" No apps installed that can open "...gCvAFzpx2caBemWF_6MsSxdS0HnbPWCB2H7an-Y". Yoou can find more apps in Centre d'applications.

in Thunderbird email until last night I had folders I had set up for my old emails subdivided into subfolders for finance medical etc. I also had a folder for sent mails This morning they have disappeared and been replaced by folders INBOX drafts INBOX sent INBOX spam and INBOX Trash; all are empty. How do I recover the old folders and their contents?

I am a bit of a noob, and probably out of my depth, so please bear with me. It also is a bit of a confusing situation so I hope that I can explain it clearly.

A while ago, Thunderbird stopped working. Whenever I tried starting it up, I got an error message saying that Thunderbird wasn't responding. I thought there might be a problem with some update so I decided that I would reinstall the program. As I went to back up my profile, I found out that there were actually two profile folders where in the past I would only find one. I chose to back up both, and procede with de- and re-installing Thunderbird. After doing so I tried to integrate the old profiles back into the new installation. At first, I chose the largest of the to profile maps and copied it where I found it before the re-installation. I created a new profile using the old profile folder through the User Profile menu. This seemed to work! However, I noticed something. I have two e-mail accounts running in this profile. One IMAP and one POP. I noticed that the POP account was missing about a years worth of old e-mails. As if it stopped saving them at some point. I figured they must be in the other profile folder I found before the re-installation. I tried creating a new profile with this profile but when starting up Thunderbird afterwards I once again got the 'Thunderbird isn't responding' message. So I reverted back to the first profile I made, the one with the missing e-mails. Appart from those e-mails, it seemed to be working well. To get back what was missing, I tried copying the files in the "inbox.sbd" of the back up that wasn't responding into the back up that was responding, thinking that if it messed something up, I could just CTRL + Z my way out of trouble. It seemed that there were three locations in the functioning back up that I could copy the files into, each having the server name of the e-mail account that I was missing e-mails from. I tried copying the files in each of them, each time removing the files through 'undo' before trying the next location. As this seemed unsuccesfull I tried restarting Thunderbird again (having removed the copied files from all locations) which resulted in the following error message:

In a pink screen that I have never seen before. After this I tried removing all profiles and starting again with a fresh copy of the backed up profile folder as I figured I might have accidentally changed something in the profile folder I was using. This however keeps giving the same error message.

Clearly, I messed something up. But I don't know what. Can anybody help? One last thing I noticed that in the 'Mail' folder within the profile folder, there where three folders with the server name before, now there is only one. I guess this is a clue?

I received an email from Thunderbird (my email provider) wanting me to join the Early Bird Beta but their link to pay with PayPal didn't work so they requested I add a new credit card. I use PayPal often so I know my card on file with PayPal is OK. Seemed odd to me for their request. I could forward their email to me if needed. Looks like they are using Paddle.com Market Limited.

Since the Thunderbird update of 30 Sept the ability to attached files to my emails has 'vanished'. I press the attach 'button' but there is no response. Never had this as a problem before. I am running Windows 11 home version. Help!

After starting Thunderbird I set up a list of subheadings in the local column left of the inbox. I filed all my important emails into appropriate sub-headings (events, invoices to do etc etc). Suddenly all of them (including the scam subheading ) have disappeared and all there is Local and delete. Please can you advise me where they have all gone and whether I can retrieve them because losing them all would be a bit of a disaster Thank you

I have 5 Gmail accounts they're all configured the same I automatically let thunderbird install two but none of the other three will connect i have tried everything i can think of but can't get thunderbird to connect to my gmail account . the gmail accounts are all configured the same and i'm using the same thunderbird configuation

I'm running the current 157.0.1 release on Windows 11, and specifically am having my emails from the AP be sent to spam even though I have a specific filter set to tag them. I feel as if the filter itself is set up properly because when I manually run it the messages will be moved from the spam folder to the inbox and tagged accordingly.

The one thing sticking out to me is these emails are being forwarded through my relay account. I've tried changing the filter to work based on the relay address, but again it only works when I manually run it. I've also tried setting the filter to run both before "and" after spam classification, but neither option works. Ideally the filter would work without me having to go to my spam and run it, and even then I'm wondering why the spam filter hasn't learned by now that those email belong in my inbox.

I'd appreciate any help or solutions; I'm not an email power user or networking wiz though so please try to keep it as dumbed down for me as possible!

I use emojis in email, but recipients report that the text of the email arrives covered with emojis. I thought it was a problem with the receiver until a second person just reported the same issue with an email I sent them. Both are gmail accounts . . .

I no longer have a right click menu available for photos in an email. There is only the option to zoom in or back out. My screen does not match what directions Google has to offer to fix the bug.

After new installation I want to use my profile of the former installation. In principle I followed the procedure of the article "An einem anderen Ort wiederherstellen". After that when starting thunderbird it always asks me to create a new account.

Does anyone know what is missing?
