Greetings, about week or more ago whenever I would open Firefox two instances would pop up and to fully close Firefox I would have to exit out of both. While it is a rather small inconvenience having to swipe twice to fully quit the app it's slowly becoming more annoying especially when I am going through my open apps and two Firefox browsers get in the way of me finding the app I need or when I am trying to look at something from another open app quickly. Any help would be appreciated. I have a Pixel 3a running Android 11 and Firefox is updated to the most recent version. Also, I do not have any add-ons or pluggins. I have included a screen shot of what it looks like Thank you!

Dear Community,

my small Tech-Startup has an browser based software for craft enterprises based in the fire alert sector.

We advise our customers to use firefox on their androids.

For save using our web based software, the possibility for voice sounds in background or standby mode is nesessary. We use for that No sleep JS in combination with var msg = new SpeechSynthesisUtterance(); var voices = window.speechSynthesis.getVoices();.

We understood the reason stopping abuse on Youtube, sure they need to earn money.

But if we dont get any workarround or help we are forced to leave the plattform firefox and create own app, this is for the users not best solution and us as small start up with 10 customers will cost much money.

Thanks for helping us :)

I'm using Firefox v68.7.0 on Android 9.0 and my Samsung A10e. I've crafted a web-page that includes the following HTML snippet:

<a href="tel:2125551212">Phone Jim</a>

The page is located on the local Android file system, accessed via a URL of the type "file://...". Clicking on the displayed hyperlink fails to load the phone's dialer with the listed number.

This works correctly on Chrome v81.0.4044.117, Edge v45.03.2.4955, and Opera v57.2.2830.52651 on the same Android phone.

Thanks in advance for any clarity you can provide.

I made a little webtool for my family to manage our shopping list.

To add new items to the shopping list I use an input field with a datalist.

the datalist is populated from the already used items from a database.

So if you type the first letters in the input field, the browser shows the matching entries, so i can choose easily from the list.

Works like a charm until the new firefox for android V79.0.5.

If I type letters in the input field, nothing happens.

Works flawless in Firefox Desktop Linux (V79.0), older version of Firefox Android, Chrome for Android (V84.0.4147.125).

Is this a bug in the new firefox?

Here to test and to view source code: https://cpunke.de/input_test.php

Thanks for any help in advance.

regards Christian

Doesn't work on my phone anymore. I made Opera my search engine to work across all of my devices. Does anyone know a better one than Opera? Like Firefox, it's a little old-fashioned, but it works. As long as I'm going through all this aggravation of getting rid of Firefox and putting on something else I would like to be as modern as possible. Any ideas out there?
