At startup, Firefox starts with an account setup screen. I have been using current setup for 3 years. Tried troubleshoot mode to no avail. Had same problem 3 years ago.

After closing Firefox, I often get a message for "creating a new profile". It seems difficult to do this and it would be very helpful to have a link where this can be easily done. Thanks for all your help. Alok Bhargava [edited email from community support forum]

Recently a tiny icon of an empty shopping cart has been superimposed at the top right-hand corner of the Firefox icon in my system tray. I want to get rid of it. In addition, just in the last few days, I'm being asked to choose among profiles when I sign onto Firefox and I want to have only one default profile and to avoid that extra step in signing on.

Been using Firefox for 20+years in poway, ca now in Oregon City, somehow I ended up with 3 profiles, I would like to merge at least the bookmarks and delete 2 To stop confusion, thanks Ralph Kirn

Much to my regret, I clicked on New Profile, and now all my shortcuts are gone. How to I go back???? Or, I suppose I could find out how to add shortcuts. But, just so you know, I am ANGRY that I am wasting time on this! Why couldn't you have left well enough alone????

I really don't need a profile in Firefox and if I delete the profiles listed, you will wipe out all my bookmarks/settings. Why do I need to see a yellow triangle on the Firefox app icon?

I have a problem with the browser automatically starting when I start my PC. I have this feature disabled (!) ("Open Firefox automatically when your computer starts up" turned OFF) Everything was fine, but then I started using the "profiles" feature - browser start's to open automatically when i start up my pc.

when I created a new profile (in addition to the main one). The problem appeared, and that was a long time ago (at least half of year ago it was already as now). I hoped that it would be fixed and didn't write to support. Windows and the browser itself have been updated several times since then - this did not help.

Changing the settings in different profiles, creating / deleting them, and other basic actions did not help. What happens is that the browser ALWAYS opens when I start the PC (Profile selection tab, i have turned ON "Select profile when Firefox start up")

I tried turn off \ delete all plugins, turn on\turn off almost every default setting, no effect. What should i do?

Currently have 4 profiles in Firefox - but problem appeared after creation on 2nd profile. "Open Firefox automatically when your computer starts up" turned off in every profile.

I'm using Firefox (149.0.2 snap) with LUbuntu 24.04.4 LTS. Because of a wrong graphic driver, I had to turn off hardware acceleration in FF.

When FF is started the Initial "Firefox - Choose User Profile" is unreadable (see attached : wrong_screen.jpg), but if I continue (click somewhere in the window) , all the opened tabs are readable.

Once in FF, if I want to select another profile from the application menu -> .. -> manage profiles, then the "Choose User Profile" window is fine (see attached : good_screen.jpg).

I tried to start FF with the "-P" option to specify wanted profile but it continues to start with the unreadable "Choose User Profile" window.

Could someone give me a solution, except finding the good hardware driver for my computer?

Out of nowhere today I encountered with Firefox seemingly crashing. My laptop said it needed to reboot. Once rebooted I began to get the missing/inaccessible profile error. I tried to uninstall / reinstall but continue to get the error. When I search through for the missing profile per all guidance and troubleshooting Windows says it's not found. When I use the "run" it doesn't bring me to a folder but to a notepad type screen (copy paste below). I do not see where I have any options. Would it be effective to just delete all Mozilla from my laptop? I uninstalled / reinstalled but same error.

When I try to browse or download another copy, the error message "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible" appears.

How do I fix this?

Suddenly I have to click passed something called a profile screen. Don't want it. totally useless. Absolutely annoying. I never want to see it again. How do I do that?

No matter what I've tried, I cannot figure out a way to edit or delete the profile from the new profile manager. Both about:editprofile and about:deleteprofile show up as a blank page (with how it looks on my normal profile for comparison). I have tried deleting the folder multiple times, but the icon still shows up in the manager and clicking it just creates a new profile with the default settings. It also does not appear when using firefox.exe -p. I had previously been using the about:profiles to manage my profiles and wanted to see if I liked the new version (I didn't), hence why I was using it in the first place.) I'm currently using Firefox version 149.0 and Windows 11 on the latest version. I have found no solution that gets rid of it. I would also be fine getting rid of the profile manager UI so it stops bothering me.

Today I got on my laptop and opened Firefox like I do every day. The browser looked different. It was an ugly purple color. A window showed me information about 'Profiles'. I didn't want any 'Profiles', I just wanted my regular Firefox Browser. So I deleted the Profiles. This also ended up deleting all of my bookmarks and passwords!! It took the last two hours and working with AI to recover my most recent backup which was two years old. Firefox hasn't been backing up any of my data that I actually need, and it actively deleted the things I rely on. Your devs and designers really messed up on this one. I bet no one uses Profiles, but everyone uses passwords and bookmarks to some degree. Why would you build it like that?! Shame, Mozilla. This was a serious error on your part. Bad product design. Make it easier to back up the things we need. Get rid of this useless 'Profiles' function that I bet no one uses.

Help! I updated my account to a new email months ago. I have been trying to set up a new different profile. Copying a profile or trying to add a profile adds the newly made profile to my old email address instead of my new email address. In the new profiles created, I am unable to login to my new email and password.

Some day not so long ago, while I was busy with something else, something happened and I was asked to choose or create a profile. Since then nothing seems to be as I am used to during several years of Mozilla Firefox use, so I want to ask where have all my bookmarks and passwords gone? If it's because of the introduction of something called AI, then please let me rely on my own I. I don't trust the "A" version!

I'm trying to understand Profiles, especially since I am transitioning to a new laptop.

On my older machine, I have an Original Profile. Since I've never specifically created a profile, I assume that Original Profile contains my current Settings, Bookmarks, etc. Is that a correct assumption?

My new machine also has an Original Profile. Do I need to copy my Original Profile from my older machine to the newer machine? Should I rename the profile on the new machine or leave it as Original Profile?

I start the Firefox Browser from an icon on the desktop. This icon does not have a padlock symbol in the upper right corner of the icon. When the Firefox Browser starts an icon with a padlock symbol located in the upper right corner of the icon appear on the taskbar. What is the significance or the padlock symbol? What causes the padlock symbol to appear? How do I disable this option? Is this a feature added with a recent update to Firefox?
