I didn't know which topic to select. Just started the computer and there was a TrendMicro notice to restart my browser to complete an update -- I opened Firefox and it opened in two windows with notices about updates, but had lost all my tabs. Other times the situation is different, but the result is the same -- fifty or a hundred tabs gone -- I just noticed the toolbar is missing too so I'm going to send or submit this and turn it back on and see if that stupid extension that supposedly saves my tabs has saved anything, but often, when this happens, it hasn't saved anything for weeks! I've tried getting tech support from them but however these things works something isn't triggering it. One shouldn't need a CIS degree to be able to use a laptop. Thank you, you're awesome regardless.

Hi, Since Jan I am unable to send Emails to @was-luzern.ch I can receive them, but every mail I try to send is returned with this error message: Email error code 550: Emails from your address have been blocked by the administrator.

I just sent same mail via Chrome with no problem!

It seems this could be a Firefox related problem, any idea?

Hello, John aka Beer Gutt here.

A while ago (about three months), I moved my hard drive to a new PC with better parts. It has a better mother board, a better graphics card and twice the RAM. Anyway, since then Firefox hasn't worked the same. When i open Firefox, there will be random pieces of letters or words on a webpage just gone, making a lot of them impossible to browse because I can't read half of the the new Alien dialect on the screen. Some websites have been better than others, but its gotten to the point where some web pages (Like YouTube or Reddit for example.) will just be a mess of random de fragmented lime green blocks that completely corrupt the page and will shift, move and appear at random covering up text as I scroll down. Videos will play just fine, it's the rest of the site that's effed up. Also on YouTube videos, where the timer for the video is located, some of the numbers just won't show up. Like it will count down fine but won't display certain numbers in the timer. Funny thing is, is that this doesn't just affect the websites, but the browser itself. For example, hovering my mouse over different tabs will highlight them and show me the preview text of the tab. All that is good until I move over to a different tab and voila, the text is gone, and then suddenly all the other tabs are either blank or just missing random letters and numbers in the tab. This is only happening in Firefox btw. No other app on my PC is doing this. I've tried refreshing Firefox about six times now, I've uninstalled it three times in an attempt to fix the issue along with restarting my PC multiple times... All of that, and I find out yesterday that it works perfectly when in "Troubleshoot/Safe mode", and only when in Troubleshoot/Safe mode. I have no idea what is causing the issue... *PePeLaugh* 

 See, I would use another browser but I've been using Mozilla for 8-9 years and would like to avoid the hassle of moving everything to a new browser... I would VERY much appreciate any help at all.

 I'm running 64-bit windows 8.1 on the latest updates and my PC specs are roughly as follows below. I look forward to a response...

I just installed Version 90.0.1 on MAC OS BigSur latest version. I followed some old post I found regaridng this isssue and nothign is working. I am using customized shortcuts for Cut, Copy, Paste and find similar cu the keyboard shortcut on Windows PC Ctr+C, Ctr+V. These shortcut are working for all other applications including Safari and Chrome. None of them is working fro Firefox. I need to use CMD+C, CMD+V and so on. I do not have any language packs added except the primary English US. This is the main reason why I am not using Firefox for the most part. I reinstalled the appliaiton af ew times, I have created a secodn profile on MAC and Firefox, I start in refresh mode, issue is still there. Any solution to this issue?

Hi, I thought Firefox updated automatically so can someone please tell me why this box seemingly opens every time I open Firefox. I am using version 92.01 (64bit) . When Box first appeared I attempted an update and lost all bookmarks etc. would like to know what I'm getting wrong before I go any further. Thanks, John.

This is the 3rd time I've posted here about crashing in the last month or so. I really do apologize for having to post again but I simply haven’t gotten to a solution. I really need to continue using Firefox as all the other browsers are significantly slower in my experience and I'm in the browser around-the-clock. I’d be willing to pay for customer support from Mozilla but they do not provide any type of support directly as most of you probably know.

Please review this link here to see all the steps I have already taken to troubleshoot the crashes.

I really thought that the crash reports I had would help me pinpoint the issue but it appears as though they’re not very helpful for those who can interpret them. If that’s not the case, I greatly appreciate it if anybody can dig through them to uncover some insights related to why I may be having frequent crashes (I'm willing to pay).

since yr last update i have lost all my tabs, settings, and pinned tabs, what is happening can you help me stabilize this and i can not get any o\lfd them back from history as every time i open firefox, a second window opens and then keep cycling thru all the pasty websites i have visited and i cant stop it

getting 404 error only on one site. I have been using this site with FF for 3yrs no problems. Tried safe mode. Tried adding PB_stuff at the end of address. Site still works with Chrome and Windows browsers

A few days ago, a weird problem arose with "Take Screenshot" function.

The resulting image includes area designated PLUS a border on the right edge AND on the bottom edge. Note: width of side border is wider than border on the bottom is tall. This is difficult to tell in a file image because it seem to be transparent and assumes the color of background. Confusing, I know, so I have included a composite image image of result of "Save Image As..." on top, and the "Take Screenshot" added to the bottom. Prior to a few days ago, the bottom image would not have the added borders and therefore the colored part of the image would be the same width as the "Save Image As..." and extend to bottom of the image.

Note: it doesn't matter whether I download to file or cut and paste the image. The same thing happens if I "Save Full Image". And, yes, I know I need to upgrade to latest version, but this issue needs investigation...

I used to be able to run Firefox without problems, but after updating to Monterey beta 8, I started getting pop-ups from MacOS telling me to force close programs. Firefox is using upwards of 30GBs of ram and swap on my 8GB M1 Macbook Air.

Measuring using about:memory spits out the following:

How do I limit the amount of RAM Firefox uses?

since the new, yet discussed, Firefox Browser update I've had a problem with the minimize, resize and close buttons on the top right corner of the Firefox window on my laptop. My problem is that those buttons are not integrated into the Firefox window itself.

What I mean is that to accommodate those buttons there is a white long bar all across the top part of the window with the "XXX site - Mozilla Firefox" title at the left and the "_ ⬜ X" icons on the right, while on my Desktop version those buttons are well integrated into the black (my theme color) part of the Firefox window, being at the same height as opened tabs (the said position of the icons on my desktop is represented by the white rectangle drawn on the attached picture (red lines are censored bookmarks and information)).

Is there a way to get rid of that white top strip and integrate the minimize, resize and close buttons in the Firefox window itself?

I have added a extension in my firefox but its not showing in top-right corner where the extensions should be shown. I have tried disabling and re-enabling but its still not accessible(not showing).

Hello, I decided to post here instead of seeking help/assistance on the Firefox reddit.

About a week or so ago I was using Firefox fine, no issue and out of the blue it just stops wanting to launch, or if it does launch it's stuck on a dark window, I was using the dark theme, that looks like it has a loading bar on the page tabs and in the url bar. It just hangs here indefinitely, the only way that I can close down Firefox is by opening up ProcessExplorer64 and killing it that way; it does not respond to task manager at all.

What I've done:

Uninstalled / Reinstalled firefox; Updated my drivers; Turned my computer on and off again; Completely turned off, unplugged and power cycled my computer; Made it a firewall exception; Ensured my internet is connected and my computer has it (I use Discord and Chrome, in fact I have to post this in Chrome.)

What I do not have:

Anti-Virus; My computer is clean, if I could I would eat off the data and suffer no infection from it. Norton/Comodo/Avast; There is no anti-virus. There is no adware, malware, trojans, viruses or spyware on my machine. Going to the same three websites since 1997, no malicious programs are downloaded.

What I have tried related to Firefox:

Running in Safe Mode: Can't access safemode, browser does not launch far enough to have the menu interactable. Trying to launch the profile manager yields nothing. Uninstalling and Reinstalling Firefox yields no result. The only error that I have gotten is a XPRCOM error or something and the solutions for that have not worked for me as I do not have multiple installations of Firefox on my machine.

I would attach a screenshot of how Firefox looks, but I am unable to as of this post it has devolved to launching as a background process and crashing immediately.

Help?

App is broken; something is wrong. I'd like to use a Browser that is not Chrome.

Firefox 92.0.1 (64-bit) Firefox seems to open two connections whenever it connects to a url.

I have a local web server that only allows a single connection at a time.

When I enter localhost:5409 as the address firefox immediately opens two connections to the port. The first connection sends no data whatsoever. The GET request is sent out the second connection. This is not useful.

I think if you want to open two connections the GET request should go out on the first connection.

Perhaps the above behaviour is by design but I think it is a problem.

Clicking on an event in the programm list should open a new page - does not work, there seems to be just one additional line appearing below every segment.

Workaround: "Open link in New Tab".

My problem,using Mint20.2-MATE, with FireFox92, is that FF92 shuts down whenever I minimize FF-i.e., totally down-does NOT appear in taskbar. I know I had the same problem years ago, and it was a simple fix. However, going through the "Help" sections in FF this time was no help. thank you for any suggestions.

I'm seeing this issue mostly in Google News, but mostly because it uses these little symbols extensively. The little up and down carets don't display properly. They look fine in Chrome but not in Firefox. See the attached screenshot.

How can I fix this?
