I had so many instances of firefox and tabs that i decided i must organize them on tabgroups, i read they were secure enough and would be restored along with open tabs on new session. But after restarting all my "close and save" tab groups are missing! are they still saved? how can i recover them?

I have a Mac with Sequoia update but my Mac is not good with memory so when I have a new install version it will probably crash my Mac. How might I stop automatic installation by Firefox?

I just bought a new laptop with Windows 11 and installed Firefox onto drive C: of the 1 TB SSD. I then decided to partition the SSD into three drives and put Firefox on the E: drive. After I partitioned the SSD and uninstalled Firefox, I downloaded the Firefox installer from Mozilla, and ran it, but it somehow perceives that I had had Firefox previously installed and only gives me the option of re-installing Firefox at the original (C:) drive location. There is no longer an option in the installer to change the installation location. How can I get around this and re-install Firefox on my E: drive instead of my C: drive?

Each time I open the Firefox Icon on my desktop in AVD, it opens an older version and it prompts me to recreate a profile. I updated Firefox yesterday and brought over my passwords and bookmarks. This keeps reoccurring after we fix it each time. Can you help?

Evil Corp (aka Microsoft) updated my Windows 11 PC from 24H2 to 25H2 and now I cannot access quite a few websites (i.e. Amazon, Bank!, etc.) and some take a long time to load (surprisingly, my Firefox Home page...Google...also takes a while to load) . I searched the internet and found many so called fixes and most are very complicated and many contradict others. A lot of them say to disable DNS and reset network stack (using the command prompt) which I do not know how to do even though I worked in the tech business for 40 yrs (mainly data networking)...I retired 20 yrs ago...so I'm old...so I'm not as savvy with computers as I used to be. I tried changing a few Firefox settings, but nothing worked, so I changed them back to the original settings that worked before the update. If someone could give me detailed (and hopefully simple) instructions to resolve this issue, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm am in a bind, so a timely response would be great. From "About" on the Firefox menu I am trying to download the update from 145.0.2 but it is stalled at 27.1 of 31.3 MB. The little pair of spinning arrows icon just keeps spinning without making any further progress. I'm on a 2020 iMac running Sonoma 14.5 My internet connection is still functioning. I'm wondering what I should do. Is there a way to just cleanly stop and start over? Or stop and continue.

I cleared my history, and lost my autofill for my yahoo email account. I can't get it back from them. Is there a way for me to find it in my firefox history? Thanks

When I try to embed an image in an email as soon as I click on "insert" and "image" the message freezes. All I can do is to access the task manager to close Thunderbird altogether and then start again - but the same problem occurs when I try again.

I had to fall back on sending the image as an attachment. Now that I come to think of it this has been a problem for some considerable time.

NB as you can see from the sequence this crash occurs before I have been able to select the image - so it has nothing to do with the size or format of the image.

I used to be able to download from these two web sites Israbox and Farescd.com, but lately it said data could not be verified. Sometimes it allowed but other times it won't . Please help. Thanks

I opened Firefox (V 145.0.2) on my Windows 11 laptop today and noticed that the starting window was the only one open, while I have had at least five windows open for quite some time. The "History|Recently closed windows" option is greyed out. I have closed and restarted Firefox dozens of times and my windows always came back until today. Is that window/tab history stored somewhere where I could recover it?

Thinking about backups of the browser state, I looked for my profile folder and discovered that it is empty - \Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\mozilla is empty except for a file named vpn.moz. I then discovered that my profile seems instead to be stored under \Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Packages\Mozilla.Firefox_n80bbvh6b1yt2\LocalCache\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles with the folder name e5di8bjy.default-release I now learned that this location is standard for installation via the Microsoft store - the so-called MSIX version. But it is wrong that the "About"profiles" page shows that my profile is in the AppData\Roaming, not the Packages, location. When I try to open that profile folder, I get a message telling me that it is not available on this computer. It seems like the profile info should be aware of the actual location?

I am running Linux and updating firefox messed up many things on my computer -- the extent of which I have not yet determined. The main symptoms are my mouse goes spastic and my X Windows session goes rogue.

I was running an old version of firefox and updated to 142.0.1, I think, and that started all my problems. Successive updates to

       firefox-144.0.2.tar.xz,
       firefox-145.0.2.tar.xz, and
       firefox-145.0.tar.xz

have not solved the problems.

I have it change the number of work spaces in my panel workspace switcher, "roll up" any number of my windows, even those hidden, cause the buttons on the panel to not be responsive to clicks so I cannot log out, cause the mouse to jam up against the top of the screen and get stuck there, like the mouse is disconnected.

Other times it's like the keyboard is disconnected. I cannot type anything anywhere, especially in the terminal windows I have open where I can get focus on the terminal window, but the insertion point cursor is shadowed out like the window does not have focus. When this occurs, I can still close programs by clicking with the mouse on the "close" box in the upper-right corner of windows.

At this point, I can type ctrl-alt-F2 and get to an alternate console and log on as root. I have tried selectively killing processes, but the only thing this accomplishes is stopping my X session and leaving a black console screen. The only ways I have found to get back an X session logon is by executing "shutdown -h now" or "init 1" followed by "init 5".

Yesterday, after cold booting my Linux computer and logging on with only two terminal windows running, I started OpenOffice's spreadsheet program and my mouse pointer disappeared. I had to switch to a text console and restart my computer -- certainly something I never had to do before updating firefox.

It appears I will have to reload my operating system and start over. I do know CentOS 7 is EOL and have been thinking about changing to Rocky Linux. I was happywith Red Hat Linux 5.11 and Gnome 2, which is what a secondary computer is running and have even thought of getting Gnome 2 sources and compiling them under a new version of the OS.

Any other suggestions to stop the wierd behavior to get a little more time out of my existing installation?

P.S. I am submitting this on a Windows 10 laptop since I now cannot trust my main computer.

I'm running FF on Windows v145.0.1 and navigate to...

...and the animation doesn't work. This is a recent phenomenon. I have another computer in the office I've turned off FF updates (obvious reasons) and the animation works fine. It worked on my computer until recently. I'm so exhausted with FF updates that break things, it's getting as bad as Windows. I've run FF in troubleshoot mode, no good. I've added this primary domain to exceptions to enhanced tracking, no good. Nothing works so I assume it's Firefox (may not be). But v129.0.2 works fine, in this respect (streaming the animation loops of GOES West).

Does anyone know what configuration or setting I can explore to make this work again?  :-(

Certain PDFs only allow page view when opened in Firefox. When opened with other PDF viewing software or browsers (Microsoft Edge, Adobe Acrobat, Google Chrome), these PDFs allow continuous scrolling. I don't have this issue for most PDFs.

I've tried fixing the problem by editing the PDF settings in Adobe Acrobat but to no avail. When combining a PDF that works fine with a PDF that doesn't allow continuous scrolling in Firefox, it seems to take on the settings of not allowing continuous scrolling.

I recently downloaded Firefox and made two profiles on it from the hamburger button in the top right. I make one called "Work Profile" and another called "Personal Profile". I was trying to pin each one to the task bar separately because I would use youtube to watch videos/listen to music on one window and do my work in another. I have enabled the group profiles on taskbar so they dont show up together under the same icon and added { -no-remote -P "Profile Name"} to each shortcut in its properties>target on windows explorer.

It just keeps bringing up the choose user profile window but it doesn't even have the two profiles listed that I want.

When I open default then all my profiles are gone in the top right profiles window but if I choose default-release my profiles are there to select again. I am pretty sure firefox just has two things it calls profiles, one is for multiple installs and the other in in each install and I don't know how to fix it now as all my settings/passwords/add-ons are setup and I would like to not have to do it again.

When the YouTube shorts tab is open, if I want to open another tab, it immediately starts scrolling. When a shorts show starts, I click the "plus" button and it immediately scrolls down. I hope you get the idea.
