Is there a way to completely opt out of having AI in my browser?

I find recent implementations of AI in Firefox quite frankly disgusting. I don't want to see it, I don't want to use it, I don't want it suggested to me. Not only it's unneeded, but also all your LLMs are a waste of electricity, fresh water and are a threat to my privacy, and we don't even mention all the legal trouble AI scraping creates.

I need a switch to completely remove any mention of LLMs/AIs in my Firefox browser unless I search for it on the internet (and, trust me, I wont; I'd prefer to continue thinking for myself and having real people with skills and talents do things if I can't do them myself) and have none of them touch me in any way. Kill that thing with fire.

Ideally Firefox, one that advertises itself as a secure browser with respect towards its users, shouldn't have any mention of AI in the first place, you know. But since companies are in a craze about it for some unknown reason (trust me, we don't want it; if I want to be lied to, I'd go to a paediatrician to talk about my symptoms, not a language model I can't trust with my data), at least give your users an option to get that awful thing out of their browser it they want to.

Have a nice day. <3

Firefox just auto installed the latest version 145.0. After about 15-20 minutes of usage, Firefox stops responding and hangs. I ran the Task Manager (Windows 11) and found Firefox was consuming 96% of the available memory. I have to kill the task to regain control. I'm left with switching to a new browser and will probably never go back.

bold text how do i move bookmarks along the bookmarks tab

I have just bought a new computer. Got firefox working and I have bookmarks on the bookmarks tab below the search box.

I used to be able to move bookmark tabs along it and it was my main organisational method.

OR I would drag a url down from the search bar to put it on the bookmark tab below

neither of these methods work any longer and it is a real problem.

I cannot think of a worst thing you could have done.

Help how do i move a bookmark along the bookmark tab, or move a url to the bookmark tab, or move those bookmarks which I can't see to the visible section below the search bar

After upgrading my Firefox to version 145, a blue line appears at the top of the browser window when it's in full-screen mode and the current window is focused. I know this is to remind the browser window that it's currently focused and interactive, but I really hate this notification and want to make this conspicuous blue line at the top of the window disappear. I couldn't find a relevant option in the Firefox browser settings. Does anyone know how to set this up?

Please help me to disable this focus tip, thanks!

This morning when I started up Firefox it had a pop-up about the new profiles feature, asking to create a new profile. Just out of curiosity I clicked the create profile button to see what the interface would look like. Since I didn't actually want to create the profile I hit the delete button, but nothing happened. So I closed the window. I then tried delete the new profile (then called "Profile 1") by hitting the trash can from the choose profiles screen. Still nothing happens. At this point my original profile window is still open, but I close everything to restart Firefox in hopes that it will allow me to delete this profile I never wanted to begin with.

The Choose profile window comes up, I select original profile and nothing happens. I can open the new "Profile 1", which I have since labelled "Bad Profile".

D:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles doesn't appear to have my original profile anywhere.

I'm deeply concerned this beta feature I never asked for has deleted my original profile when it should have deleted the new profile.

Lately , when clicking on the link in the Winloot Live emails in order to enter , quite often the link causes Firefox to freeze. Task Manager shows that the memory usage more than doubled. Only way out is to use task manager to end Firefox. Possibly an issue at the site itself. Anyone else seeing this?

After the 145.0 update when I start Firefox both the menu bar and the top bar with the exit icon are missing. This is the first issue I've had since using Firefox when the new revision was in the 20's. Per some quick Support research, I press F 11 twice (NOT once) to restore the screen to include the top bar with exit icon and menu bar with my Windows task bar showing (as normal for the past 2 decades). When I close out Firefox in less than full screen mode and then start up Firefox again, it properly includes both the top bar with exit icon and the menu bar. HOWEVER, if I close Firefox in full screen and then restart, I am missing the top icon bar and menu bar... again. Press F11 twice and the bars are back to square one. HOW DO I FIX THIS SO I DON'T HAVE TO PRESS F11 TWICE ON EVERY STARTUP TO RESTORE MY SCREEN?????? WHY DID YOUR RECENT UPDATE CHANGE MY SCREEN SETTINGS?????

It looks like with this new version of Firefox I have to load my saved password file every time I start the browser, and even after doing the reload some of the passwords don't work forcing me to change them, and I would have to do another password save, but if I forget to do it and close the browser all the passwords are delete. I did not have this problem prior to this new install.

Also I prefer to use Firefox as a browser I feel it is way better than Edge and Chrome even though it doesn't work one a two websites I need to use. one only works on chrome the other only works on edge.

Let me know if you need other information.

Hello,

I am having an issue where my menu bar continuously shows up. If I create another tab and drag it to create a new window, it goes behind my active window. When I try to change to that window it continuously opens the menu bar and refuses to allow me to change. I have to minimize my current window and drag the other window to get it to focus. Alt + Tab does not work to swap between them. Every time I click an application and click back to window the menu bar appears again, sometimes I have to click 3-4 times before it goes away.

I have tried made sure it was not my keyboard with an alt key stuck, tried multiple browsers, only firefox is the issue. I've created a new profile with zero extensions, the issue persists. I've also completely refreshed firefox with no success. Made sure all my drivers were updated and restarted the PC, unhooked the keyboard, nothing works - it continues to have issues. Running out of ideas here. I've also tried the below below solution for the menu bar and again, no luck. Any help would be great. Thanks!

The attempted menu bar fix I've tried:

Type about:config into the address bar and press Enter. Click "Accept the Risk and Continue". In the search bar, type ui.key.menuAccessKeyFocuses. Double-click the entry to change the value from true to false. Restart Firefox.
