I am on MacOS. I am using the most recent version of Firefox (75.0). When I go to upload a file in either Gmail or Google Drive, the filesystem dialog will not come up. The browser freezes for a few seconds, I get the beach ball, then it comes back with nothing have happened. I have refreshed Firefox completely, I have tried this in safe mode without any extensions, and none of it helps.

I tried a non-Google webmail solution as well and the same thing happens.

When I try to print any website using either CTRL-P or clicking the Print button on the preview page, the output is always single-sided. If I try to override by selecting 2-sided mode from the Printing Properties dialog, I cannot because the option is grayed out. This does not happen in other programs such as Microsoft Word, where the same 2-sided option works. My printer is a Brother MFC-J995DW.

My website bucksccc.org.uk, was recently moved to a new host, DNS changed and SSL certificates renewed. The new site works wonderfully on everyones Macs, PCs, Tablets, phones etc all over the globe. But not my Mac. When I type in the URL ALL browsers say the site is insecure and they will not open it. When I look at the SSL certificate that is being rejected, it is the old one from the old host. On my mac I also have Windows 10. The site opens fine on there and the certificate is correct. It is something on my Mac that is obviously causing this. I have refreshed Firefox, rebooted, cleaned cache, flushed DNS cache, etc, etc, but still have not found a fix.

Thanks

On NBC, I get a screen reading "Well this is awkward. Sorry, it looks like the video or page you're looking for seems to have disappeared - or maybe it never existed to begin with." CBS simply won't let me play the program I select; it's just a black screen. Since both networks had the same problem on the same date, and it hasn't changed since then, I am assuming it is something to do w/my computer settings on Firefox, but have been unable to figure out what to change. Can you "talk" me through it?

A few weeks ago, FireFox suddenly changed its behavior. Some websites that used to load when I clicked on their links in e-mail messages didn't load any more. This was most obvious with e-mails from Pinterest, but happened with some other links as well. Clicking on the link brought up a completely blank page, with nothing in the address bar. I tried navigating to Pinterest directly, through the Search bar, and couldn't do it - I got the usual list of sites but clicking on them did nothing. Clicking old links that dropped down in the address bar didn't work, either. Copying the links into Chrome brought me to the Pinterest site, and also an Atlantic article I couldn't reach through FireFox, without any problem. I've already tried eliminating AddIns, checking my Firewall settings, clearing my Cache and Cookies, turning off DNS pre-fetching, and the other suggestions in the "Firefox can't load websites but other browsers can" Help article. NOTE: The problem is limited to only some websites. In particular, I haven't had any trouble with Facebook, or most news websites, or YouTube.

This whole thing seems kinda like a whole mess. Don't know exactly when it did start, maybe for around 2 weeks now, but it's getting progressively worse.

The first problem that started came with downloads. Almost everything except image files (.gif, .jpg, .png so far as I checked) fails. Pdfs, exe, jars and so on can't be downloaded. Not even download window pops up. Only does that for images.

  • Tried downloading with Microsoft Edge, it works.
  • Tried downloading on firefox using Safe Mode, works as well.
  • Made second Administrator account and everything works there too.
  • When uninstalling using control panel got error "Can't initialize plug-ins directory",
  • when trying to launch firefox installed to maybe uninstall firefox that way I got error about not being able to create temp.
  • Both install and uninstall worked on second Administrator.
  • I also tried uninstalling antivirus software before, didn't seem to change anything too.

Now, while trying different sollutions, I noticed that sound on firefox wasn't working anymore. I noticed it when trying between these two options:

  • Turning off Firefox hardware acceleration
  • Resetting settings on applicable browser.download settings in about:config

Turning on Firefox hardware acceleration didn't fix.

So like... This whole thing is confusing mess. Any help?

After a chat session with Acronis tech support two days ago, I keep getting unpredictable appearances in Firefox of the opening chat window with "Welcome to Kernel Data Recovery" at the top, including the Acronis rep by both name and picture asking if he can help. So far no response from Acronis. This belated and repeating reappearance of the opening chat window has a time stamp that is current, not one from the preceding day or two when the chat took place. I found a normal looking website for a firm called Kernel Data Recovery, but no phone or chat lines open to them right now. But they did have their sales pitch for agent employee software, so the Acronis chat was likely the cause, but in a way that affects only the browser I was on, Firefox. I opened Edge, and the bogus chat window did not appear. There are not, nor ever have been, any Kernel Data Recovery programs on my PC. And I have no plugins or extensions that could be relevant. Have others experienced this, and could any Firefox steps other than reset (which I recently did for other reasons} be relevant? Firefox is fully updated to 76.0.

I'm getting this on HSN.com, Wikipedia, Facebook. It flashes for a few seconds and then is gone faster than I can select an option, unless my cursor just happens to be in the upper right corner at the time. When I can select one, no matter which, nothing happens that I can see.

I'm using a MacBook Pro, and I restarted it this morning.

Since I switched over to Firefox, I'm having trouble on Facebook, where links that would normally only open if I clicked on them now just pop open when the mouse cursor is nowhere near them or when I've not clicked on them. I've tried several different mouses so the mouse has been ruled out. I'm trying to rule out a browser problem before I approach it as a Facebook problem.

Whenever I open a YouTube video, the moment the page has finished loading, Firefox instantly scrolls the page down about a centimeter, hiding a small portion of the video behind YouTube's search/menu column. To resolve this, you have to scroll up everytime you watch a video, which is a major annoyance. I have experienced this thoughout many macOS and Firefox releases, tested it with and without add-ins – it doesn't matter, it always happens.

Is this issue known, and is there a known way to fix it? Otherwise this would be an amazing fix for upcoming releases.
