Hello, FF support forum,

I think I have seen a Container retain my login to a site when I open it again after closing it. Is there a way to configure Containers so that they are mini versions of the dump-cookies-temp-data when I close Firefox entirely? I would so love that functionality.

As it says in the subject line, the `reopen closed tab` keyboard shortcut cmd+shift+T doesn't do anything on Firefox for MacOS. Weirdly enough, the keyboard shortcut for `new tab` cmd+T does work, as does the other typical shortcuts (search, cut, copy, paste, new window, reopen closed window, etc.). So I'm puzzled why this one is the exception.

I've also noticed that using the other shortcuts light up the respective menu in the top bar (File when cmd+T, Edit when cmd+F, Bookmarks when cmd+shift+O, etc.), but pressing cmd+shift+T does not. Not sure if that's a useful hint or not.

I can still right click the current tab and select `Reopen closed tab` option from there, which is what I've been doing, but it definitely interrupts the flow I have when all of the other usual shortcuts I use work and then this one doesn't.

Thank you, and have a good day.

Firefox version 142.01. After the update I find that Firefox opens normally with tabs visible as normal. When I use the > button to scroll to tabs not visible, the tabs scroll as normal but as soon as I release the mouse button they immediately and rapidly scroll back to the original position. This means I am unable to access many of my tabs. I have searched for information on this but have not been able to find anything specific. I have cleared cookies etc., refreshed Firefox, used a different mouse all to no avail. Another issue is that when trying to select which topic best describes my problem, the pop up only flashes on the screen and when it does stay on, it vanishes again when I try to select an issue. I managed to select the one shown but it was the only one I could access. I don't know what else to do. Any help will be gratefully received. Thanks. Owen

The release notes for 142.0 say:

Keep an active tab visible in a collapsed tab group
Focus on just one tab in a group without the clutter. Your active tab stays in view, keeping
things tidy even with the group collapsed.

But it does not define what an "active tab" is. I usually have a group which never collapses, it always has one or more tabs visible no matter what I do. Is this a bug? Or is there some way to stop tabs from being 'active'?

This is on Firefox 142.0, and has happened on both Windows and Linux devices.

I recently enabled Vertical Tabs with the autohide option, and starting with this most recent version, frequently now it will break so that when I hover over tabs and it expands, but leaving when leaving the tab bar it will not hide again, leaving the tabs expanded and covering part of the window. I've seen it happen with as few as 3 tabs open, and as many as 20+. Right now it's happening on one window with 18 tabs open, but not another with well over 20, and not on a 3rd window with 1 tab.

When this affects a window it affects it EVERY time. The only fix I've found is to grab every tab out and move to a new window, which is tedious when doing research and opening a ton of tabs, or when in the middle of doing something and suddenly you lose part of your screen.

Additionally, I've noticed an annoying quirk of the autohide that happens when the tabs are contracting. If I hover over tabs (when they're not broken) and then leave the tab area, but move my mouse to an element that would be covered by the tab area within 1-2 seconds of the tabs contracting (even if they're fully hidden again), the tabs pop back out again. I have to move my mouse far to the right, wait for tabs to hide, and then wait 1-2 seconds before it's safe to try and click things on the left side of the screen.

Any Ideas what is going on? About July 21st, 2025 I started noticing with a couple of browser tabs open, a new tab opens autonomously and flitters in the new tab name area, what "looks like a TagID", then closes by itself. I define "looks like a TagID" as something that looks like a tag at end of article link in popular newsletters I see, and appears in the url bar of the linked article.

The occurrence of the new tab happens when I open the browser, within 1 minute and occurs randomly during the session, perhaps every 20 minutes.

My first suspect/assumption is I am always signed into Mozilla when I open Firefox 141.0 (64 bit), processing an update now, Aug 5 2025. I have subscriptions to VPN and Monitor and I have sync (passwords and bookmarks) with my mobile instance of Android Samsung Galaxy phone.

My Desktop is set up as Windows 11 pro with one employer InTune acount for Microsoft but I limit that work to Edge browser.
