My browser updated to 149.0.2 on Windows 11 early April 2026. I first noticed the browser asking me to select a profile when trying to open hyperlinks from emails, but since I had not closed the browser since the update, I still had all of my information. When I went to restart, I was forced to make a new profile as no other ones were recognized. This also happened during an update at the end of 2025 and I was able to fix it with advise from support articles., Unfortunately, none of those fixes seem to be applicable anymore. Does anyone have a current fix? I have lost so much saved info!

I normally have 4 windows open, each with multiple tabs, for 4 work streams.

Whenever Firefox or MS decides to do an update, one window sometimes, 4 rarely, none usually, are recovered after restart. How can I ensure that Firefox remembers all the windows and their tabs before shutting down? Then reinstates them after starting up. After the last MS update, the option "Recently closed windows" was greyed out. But there had been 4 of them.

Firefox's recovery after simply rebooting the computer is more, but not completely, reliable. Win11 on a desktop computer

Just found that using Iolo System Mechanic to clean up my desktop is constantly causing the loss of my bookmarks and possibly my passwords. I have tried to specify which file(s) to ignore in System Mechanic to avoid this issue, but it is not allowing me to specify the files in my Appdata folders that I suspect it is clobbering. Has anyone been successful with this? I am getting tired of restoring my bookmark files every time I use the program. My wife's computer is having the same issue, and even worse in that she has also had her entire bookmark backup files wiped clean, which required her to re-enter all of her bookmarks manually. The folks at Iolo want me to pay for support before I can get any help from them.

Whit the new things of the profiles or something I just didn't like it so I just delete the thigs that appear in my face, but that deleted all my stuff(hystory, bookmarks, passwords), I supossley had all on my account on mozilla but it's not there, i don't know what to do, I already try the backup or something that appear in the support page but the only profile that is older than the rest doesn't work or is empty, pls I need help

I just lost my bookmarks again, it happened a month or so ago as well. Appears to have been due to updates.

I have already followed the recommended ideas of navigating to restore, but there is no date given to restore to.

Just "choose a file comes" up, and that appears to lead nowhere.

I also went about:profiles , and all that was there was the current "cannot be deleted " profile and the option to make a new one, I tried that, it did not restore bookmarks. I need some of tose bookmarks quite badly this time

What more can I do ?

Why my mozilla account didn't save my bookmark correctly, I just upgrade my windows to Windows 11, before I install my OS, I already syinced my Mozilla Account and all its data include bookmark toolbar. But, when I try to login and resync all my old data, its all gone, how to solve this issue?

I tried a restore but the only date available for bookmarks was today (jsonlz4 file). I tried other online suggestions but I cannot locate any old files to restore from. If I cannot get them back, I will switch browsers because the loss is unacceptable.

Firefox update did not fully complete. All bookmarks have been lost. I did not have a back up file. Can I still get them back? It's still asking to finish setup and has not completed.

What happened, All my important bookmarks are missing. I have had to log into every account I have, No saved passwords. Really upset. I need help to restore all this information that I need

after my laptop crashed (again did so over 100 times) but this time all history is gone, could not restore last session/s - can't log into my accounts (any) - can't set it to an earlier date (e.g. yesterday) to eliminate whatever the problem is (am not an IT expert, so I don't know how - just know that it is possible) - I have tried for 4 hours - no avail - I really need the status of 4-5 hours ago so I don't lose so much

Hi folks, I restarted Firefox today on my Macbook and now the Restore Previous Session option is no longer working. I've tried the Sessionstore fix described here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-restore-browsing-session-backup but it is not doing the trick. I've used it multiple times in the past and it has always worked up until now.

I've since opened a couple of new tabs and then shut Firefox down to see if the Restore Previous Session will bring those particular tabs back. However the Restore previous session remains greyed out. I suspect it may be to do with the latest update to 149.0.2. I downloaded and installed that two days ago, but only restarted this morning so I think the update would have been done then. Are there known issues with this update, and is a fix coming? I use the most up to date Firefox program. I needed to reinstall windows from scratch so backed up my files using the Firefox Backup option. When i try to restore the files, it restores only 2 bookmarks, 1 called Learn More, and another, a folder called How to Restore, and in it a book mark called Download. The bookmark just takes you to the Firefox home page. I dont know what to do.. there are bookmarks I need, so hope someone can help. Attached is an image of the file Firefox Created.

Hi there,

I woke up this morning and opened firefox. Normally it opens the days previous tabs and this morning it didn't. When I tried 'restore recent tabs' it didn't do it. When I went into history and found the previous day's back up and tried to restore it also failed. Can you help?
