In Chrome, for example, if you type "maps" in the address bar, it will autofill to "maps.google.com", which then redirects to the correct URL, "google.com/maps". Initially, it doesn’t do this, but if you do it repeatedly, Chrome eventually learns and sends you directly to that URL when you type "maps". The same happens with "gmail" or even just "gm", which redirect to "gmail.com" or "mail.google.com". Does Firefox have this kind of feature?

I think I browsed a reddit thread from a few years ago asking this same problem having something to do with autofill frequency which doesn't work, because the actual url is not, in the example of maps, maps.google.com and the url I want to enter redirects to it.

My mail checker extension isn't working right in Firefox. Extension Link I was able to find an error using Developer Options but I don't know if the error is even related to the extension or if it is even useful. If anyone would help me, I would be very grateful.

HI Mozilla, I have recently purchased a new laptop and am setting up my desktop icons. I have the latest version of Firefox on both the old one and this one. also Windows 11

On the old computer (which I set up 18 months ago and still works) the desktop icons show the website logo. The correct logo appears for any newly opened websites for which I set a desktop icon.

On this computer all website desktop icons show the Firefox logo and not the website logo. This happens whether I drag the address or the lock symbol. I can change the icon using the inbuilt menu, but this is tedious and I would prefer them be the correct ones.

The correct logo appears if I right click on an app in the start list and drag it to the desktop.

Consequently I think the above is a Firefox problem.

I have been using Firefox for some years very successfully.

Hello! I am an avid user of firefox (especially with adblockers) on a windows 11 PC. Unfortunately, I have recently been experiencing an issue where when I attempt to open firefox, a window will open for a split second before instantly closing again. My PC is up to date, I have tried refreshing firefox and doing a clean install, but cannot seem to overcome the issue, or even open it in safe mode. Does anyone have any advice? Many thanks in advance!

There are four (!) instances of Firefox now in Default Apps (Windows 11). From what I can glean from searching online, the fixes either involve messing with the Registry or uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox, but even these measures do NOT prevent the multiple instances from recurring with further updates. The Control Panel only shows one instance of Firefox.

What is the best approach to this problem? A "fix-it" tool would be most welcome.

Lately I installed a new PC, and tried to download FireFox and sync my data. But my data seems like a few years ago, not as new as another PC I have now. I'm sure I have logged in with same account on them, how's this happend?

on the very top of the page right side there are three images that refer to the page. it usually show one box now it shows two. I want to go back to one.

What in the actual hell is going on? Since when did this become a problem? Website ends with .to instead of .com but this has literally never caused me any problems on this machine and I've been using the same extensions/add-ons since I bought it. It's been at least 3-4 years. Windows 11 24H2 (latest update) Firefox Version 140.0.2 (latest update) No settings have been changed, aside from my updating the browser and/or my operating system. For about a week now, every time I try to share something to a friend of family member - all I get is the rotating circle in the messenger window that pops up. If I cut-n-paste the URL to the thing I want to share, it works fine in messenger......

To sign into my Amazon account, I'd like to enter only my email address and my password.

But I have to enter my email address and my passkey. A verification code is then sent to my email address. I then need to enter that verification code to complete signing into Amazon.

On the Amazon's Sign in page (where I enter my passkey), it says "This request comes from the app 'firefox.exe' by "Mozilla Corporation".

How do I disable the two-factor (aka two-step) authentication for Amazon in Firefox?

Why on earth would you remove the ability to select move multiple tabs anywhere in an open window browser???? Until recently, I could select the first and last tab, hold shift and move them anywhere I chose. Now that feature doesn't work at all. It duplicates one tab or I'm given a choice to move to the front or last of all open tabs! Please give me the feature back!!1

When I try to launch firefox, it opens only on the taskbar for a split second and doesn't launch. I don't see the program appear at all on task manager. I've restarted my computer and reinstalled multiple times. This problem persist across multiple computers

I had not used the Firefox browser in a few days, so when I went back in today it asked me to update it. I did, and now every page I go to freezes and the browser locks up. Is there some way to get rid of this latest update? I have Windows 11.

Since Mozilla made Firefox Beta's update (B141.05), a few days ago, most fonts (.ttf's) and icons (.ico's) are matching the same color as the background (.bmp's) of the pages. Who else has noticed so? This does not help any user on any system. Connect.Mozilla.org - Who Agrees that Most Fonts are Camouflage to Websites?

I am trying to use Firefox and when I click on the Icon nothing happens. I run it as Administrator and the browser open but I can not load any web pages. The only web browser that works is Duck Duck Go. Google Chrome does not work either.

Whatever update that happened recently destroyed everything I used Firefox for, everything. How can I get it all back? It seems there is no going back?

How did Mozilla left this get by? If I have to rebuild everything it will take years.

I may as well use a more worthy browser. I am so angry. I've lost links to so many family items like the burial site of my birth father. So, many things gone. I'm stunned and crushed over this.
