Any Ideas what is going on? About July 21st, 2025 I started noticing with a couple of browser tabs open, a new tab opens autonomously and flitters in the new tab name area, what "looks like a TagID", then closes by itself. I define "looks like a TagID" as something that looks like a tag at end of article link in popular newsletters I see, and appears in the url bar of the linked article.

The occurrence of the new tab happens when I open the browser, within 1 minute and occurs randomly during the session, perhaps every 20 minutes.

My first suspect/assumption is I am always signed into Mozilla when I open Firefox 141.0 (64 bit), processing an update now, Aug 5 2025. I have subscriptions to VPN and Monitor and I have sync (passwords and bookmarks) with my mobile instance of Android Samsung Galaxy phone.

My Desktop is set up as Windows 11 pro with one employer InTune acount for Microsoft but I limit that work to Edge browser.

The bookmarks and folders that I delete keep on returning. I have tried everything I know:

• disabled sync,
• deleted backups...
• deleted Firefox from my other devices

everything. But the deleted bookmarks and folders keep returning in my Bookmarks menu and in my Bookmarks Toolbar. Sometimes I get into "Manage Bookmarks" and I see the deleted folders reapper just a few seconds after I have deleted them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am at the point that that the next thing to try would be to switch to another browser

I was asked to create a new profile in order to keep using Firefox, despite never having an account. After I clicked okay, it opened the new version of Firefox, but without all the passwords, bookmarks and history of the past few years. This is really inconvenient. I have since then made an account, but the fact that I can't find any of this data anywhere has me worried that every time I update Firefox it will wipe my account.

I just installed the latest Firefox update and all my bookmarks and passwords have disappeared. Can someone please tell me where there would be stored so that I can re-install them. This hasn't happened with previous updates. I hope I have chose the best topic for my question.

Today when I powered on my pc and opened up firefox all tabs were lost.

I have the option to retain tabs when opened up enabled.

I could not find them anywhere, so I had to search opened tabs from the other synced devices and click on each of them, and create again all the tab groups.

This is a big problem if randomly all the tabs can get lost, am I doing something wrong?

Another thing : I thought that when I create groups of tabs, and save them I coul retrieve them across all my synced devices, but the other devices can not see those groups, is this a normal behaviour?

The Atlassian Confluence "Audio Briefings" icon is consistently greyed out using the Firefox web browser (my browser of choice). How can this be enabled? This is not an issue using the Chrome and Safari web browsers on the same content. I have verified Autoplay, Microphone and Speaker settings and ensured the domain has been added to the list of exceptions to the default (which is more restrictive). Hardware and WebGL are both enabled as well. I would think Firefox would want to ensure the browser is compatible with major business applications such as those by Atlassian.

Hi, All of a sudden, bookmarks disappeared. There was a Firefox update a few days ago which fixed the problem but....it's back again, no bookmarks. My security systems have not changed whatsoever (Windows and McAfee) plus I use Ccleaner to tidy up my system at close of play. Will the bookmark system ever be fixed please? I’m experiencing an issue where I cannot use ChatGPT-5 in Firefox. When I log in and try to select or use GPT-5, nothing loads or functions properly. Other models like GPT-3.5 work normally, but GPT-5 does not respond.

I’ve already tried refreshing the page, clearing cache and cookies, and even disabling extensions — but the problem persists. Could this be a compatibility issue with Firefox? Any advice or support would be appreciated.

I updated my mac to Sequoia 15.6 and after reopening my macbook all windows of firefox are invisible on screen. If i checvk which windows are still open, they all are but I can't see them nowhere. How to proceed to see them?

Sync works fine between my Android phone and my devices, in that I can see open tabs on the phone from both devices. But what does not work is sync between the laptop and desktop. They are both listed as connected devices along with the phone, both are signed in, both synch with the phone but neither will sync with the other, so I can't see the open tabs on either device. Is this an issue or is it by design? Thank you.

As of today, the wallpaper I'd set for my homepage/new tabs pages is gone and there's no way to choose a different one. Is this just me or or are other people having this problem?
